Market analysis

The Fractured Archive raid releases with unsafe deaths and new tradeable rewards. The Fractured Archive, Old School's fourth raid, was announced as live on 20 October 2026, but it was not open straight after the update. The article says Jagex would run last-minute tests and then deploy a hotfix, aiming to open the raid at 11:00 UTC. Jagex says it will post on the article and the Game Status page if that slips. World 345 (permanent Deadman) cannot enter at release. The raid scales from 2 to 8 players, with 3 to 5 recommended. It needs While Guthix Sleeps, and its entrance is on a cliff face near the Guthixian Temple entrance. The article leaves most detail to an earlier Everything You Need To Know blog, so it gives no unique drop rates, supply costs, boss stats or non-unique loot.

The article does confirm several rules that shape early demand for supplies. Deaths are not safe, and HCIM and HCGIM players lose their status on death. A team wipe removes players from the raid and leaves a gravestone outside. Gravestone fees are cut by 75% until a player has five completions. Practice Mode is not available at launch and has no date. Jagex warns that anyone going in blind will die. Every choose-between room option (Bork or Ezekiel, Dreadnoth the Jellied or the necromancer, Xarth or the Dagon'hai Trio) gives the same contribution points, so route choice does not change unique chances. Players will therefore pick on difficulty and cost. That makes early supply use plausible, but the article gives no consumption figures. The first-week burn and any later decline are open questions to watch, not facts. The wiki pages for Xarth and Dreadnoth are pre-release text, so the demon attribute and demonbane relevance should be checked against the live fights.

The rewards are listed in the article. Elemental Fragments are untradeable and add +2 to the base max hit of one element, with dupe protection. The Archivist's Folio is an untradeable teleport charged with Ascension shards at a generous rate. Ascension shards charge the Folio and the Obligator and make Ascension bolts, and the article does not say whether they are tradeable. Zeal is an upgrade to Piety adding another +5% Attack and Strength. Its unlock item is tradeable but needs more than reading it at a bank, and Zeal is auto-unlocked in Last Man Standing and Pete Kayer's challenges. The tradeable items are the Rondache shield, Zorya's Tome, the dual-wield Ascension crossbows and the Obligator megarare. The Rondache mitigates incoming Melee, Ranged and Magic damage by 2 and stores the mitigated damage as charges for a Shield Bash. It adds its own special attack bar, overriding the orb with a no-spec weapon and running alongside a spec weapon's bar. Zorya's Tome is two-handed, casts every three ticks and exists mainly for its special attack. The crossbows are described as a raid-tier upgrade to the Toxic blowpipe. The Obligator rolls damage up to four times, gains 20% and 40% damage against 2x2 and 3x3 or larger targets, and can trade its re-rolls and multi-hit for faster attacks.

None of these new rewards had a Grand Exchange listing in the market snapshot taken at 08:06 UTC on 20 October, which was before the 11:00 UTC hotfix. Their supply and prices will only emerge once the raid is open, drops happen and trades clear, so the article cannot support item-level calls on them. The mechanisms are still worth following. Zeal's price will depend on how scarce the unlock item is, and every serious melee account is a possible buyer. The Rondache's shield slot competes with existing defenders, and the dual-wield crossbows take the shield slot. The Obligator is a megarare, so early supply will be very small. Wiki pre-release text, which may not match the live game, says Zeal needs 84 Prayer, 75 Attack and 75 Strength with higher boosts than Piety, and that the unlock item replaces Piety. That is the likeliest route to a lasting change in melee demand, but the live numbers should be confirmed first.

The one change that is live and article-confirmed outside the raid is Nex's Crush Defence dropping from +60 to +35. This makes every crush weapon more accurate against her, not only the Obligator. Jagex presents it as the reason the final Obligator will shine at Nex. The Inquisitor's mace is a one-handed crush weapon, so it is a clear existing beneficiary, but the article gives no data on how it compares with the weapons players use at Nex today. The Free-for-all Clan Wars arena on F2P worlds now needs 100 Total level, and the article gives no item-level consequence. The PvP rota, Golden Joystick vote, Twitch watch party, medals, pin sets and print giveaways have no market mechanism.

The recent-movers list is mostly noise. Many of the large percentage moves are in items with no mechanism tying them to this update, such as Relicym's balm, Raw herring and Wooden cat. The Guthixian temple teleport is the clear exception. The article tells players to use the scrolls they have been accumulating to reach the entrance near the Guthixian Temple. The wiki says these scrolls teleport to the Ancient Guthixian Temple entrance and drop from Tormented Demons. Prayer regeneration potion(2) also moved, up 17.7% on 14.0 times normal volume. The article says nothing about prayer supplies or that potion, and the 24-hour snapshot shows 0 buys and 1,013 sells, so no mechanism is established. The same goes for the other movers.
